We are pleased to be organising our first two Art Break weekends between 10th -12th June and 9th-11th September 2011.
These weekends are aimed at all levels of painter, from the complete beginner to the more experienced. During the weekend, whilst various ideas, topics and techniques will be suggested to widen each person’s skills, there is no compulsion to try them, and there will be plenty of scope to develop your own. |
Location:
Rye is famous for its History, cobbled stones and Tudor buildings, ideal subjects for sketching and painting. During each weekend, we will visit some of it's picturesque settings, such as Rye Harbour, Rye Castle Museum and Mermaid Street.

Tutor - Brian Thompson
Brian is an experienced tutor who has been teaching weekly classes for many years at his home town of Rochester, Kent. He paints predominately in Watercolours and Oils but also uses other mediums from time to time. |
Accomodation:
We will be staying for the three nights at The Lodge at Winchelsea, three miles from Rye, offering a high standard of accomodation in single or double rooms. All rooms are en-suite, and all have TV, tea or coffee making facilities. The sumptuous Restaurant offers home-cooked food and seasonal specials. A contemporary lounge bar serves a wide range of wines, beers and cocktails. There will be a designated Art Room within the hotel, which we will use for our studio work and meetings. |
